Ohio State really dropped the ball on this one. They wanted to have the only modern arena in Columbus...little did they know that Nationwide Arena would be built downtown only a few years later. This arena no longer serves a useful purpose. They host OSU basketball and men's ice hockey, and some concerts whenever Nationwide Arena is already booked or they negotiate a better deal. But it has to be the most simple, boring and quiet arenas in all of college basketball. There is not character to it. Just two large bowls, one lower and one upper. You can hear a pin drop during games. Hockey games usually only have a few people and even basketball struggles to draw crowds. They should have built an ice house for the hockey team and basketball arena for the hoops team. I'd prefer that they just go back to playing at St. John Arena; that was a REAL basketball venue.
