Every trail at the Saugatuck Dunes State Park is beautiful, but my personal favorite is the North Trail, starting on the very outer loop and returning on the very inner loop. You get to experience several different landscapes in a single hike - both deciduous and evergreen trees, wide open dunes, tall jack pines, and the beach. We've done the distance with young children and with a toddler in a trail pack several times, and it's challenging and long enough to feel rewarding, without running into lots of whining and "Are we done yet?"s. Love having this resource so close to home!
