i was lied to, thanks Darren Bannink for the horrible experience buying my first car from a dealership. right on que with the stereotype of a car salesman.

the truth:
i was told that i was going to pay a higher interest rate due to the fact that i had never made a large purchase or taken out a large loan, this part was true. this is probably common and happens to alot of people.

The Lie:
as i wavered he said i would only pay the large interest rate for 1 year and he would be able to reduce my rate by refinancing after 1 year. as i had the intention to modify the jeep i was buying i reconfirmed that he would be able to refinance the very same vehicle.

The Lie:
he said," yes".

i wasn't buying four wheels to get from A-B, i was buying a Jeep to go everywhere else.

The follow up:
i get a call 1 year later from a Michael he says i'm paying to much for interest and he wants to reduce my interest... great, right on time 1 year exactly.
i go in and he tries selling me a stock jeep/ any jeep he has in stock. i stop him and ask him to refinance the jeep i already have, he says it's not in the best interest of the dealership and i'm pretty much hooped, he says who ever told you that lied as we don't do that. i leave pissed off that i'm stuck in a high interest loan pushed on me by a by a guy clearly must have been desperate for a sale. that's the only explanation i could think of.

i come to terms that i've been lied to and there is nothing i can do about it, against my better judgement i go in to see if i can trade it in on a cheaper jeep (even though i dumped $5,000 into modifying mine) Darren Bannink and one of his employees who i won't name as he was probably just acting under darren's instruction, offer me half of what my jeep is worth and offer me a 96 month term and dump a ton of negative equity on this "cheaper jeep" until i was paying more per month for an additional 5 years, "but hey at least you're paying less interest" what kind of logic is that......... i walk out laughing at the stupidity and completely insulted.

i'll never buy a vehicle from this dealership, i could only imagine how many people Darren Bannink dupes into high interest loans on a monthly basis. now that he's the manager i'm sure his training to his salespeople includes this shady tactic.

buyer beware!

i told myself i wouldn't write a review, but man it's really been eating away at me and i feel i should just write this to notify people that this is just something that dealerships do.

Darren should go work at Hyundai, im sure this tactic works over there all the time. jeep people are different.
