Review of Wesley Hotel

The Wesley has undergone some remodeling, and we had some issues with the room and hotel that may be due to the remodel. The lavatory did not have a rod to push/pull to let the water out of the sink so it was tricky to put in my contacts. We informed the front desk, and nothing was changed during our stay. The Air Conditioner didn't work. We informed the management and were told by a maintenance engineer that the AC was broken on our entire floor. It was not corrected during our stay. We had to open the window, and there's a popular pub across the street so there was quite a lot of street noise. There is a loose tile in the entry way of the lobby and after tripping on it and informing both the management and the maintenance engineer, nothing was done during our stay. We were unable to get hot water out of the lavatory faucet, but the shower worked perfectly. I had to boil water in the supplied induction water heater in order to shave. The TV was essentially unwatchable (it's very small and you don't really want to watch it in bed) because the picture was breaking up and "blocky" on more than half the channels. We informed management and the engineer, and this was not corrected during our stay. The floors squeaked and I feel sorry for the people below. We tried to walk about as little as possible. The bottom of the induction water heater was grimy and looked like it had never been cleaned. There was no note paper or pen supplied in the room. There were no phone instructions so I couldn't call room-to-room (BTW you dial a "2" then the room number) until after I contacted the front desk. I still have no idea how to get an outside line.
They do supply a wonderful breakfast, and everything in our two rooms is new or newer in August 2015. But I think next time I'll pick a reputable chain.
