Review of Float Sense

I made my way to Float Sense a few days ago before heading off to spend the holidays with family. We of course picked a day where there was serious snow fall, so we were very cold and eager to relax. My husband and I had both been stressed with work so he thoughtfully booked us both sessions to try and help us decompress. I work downtown, so admittedly am used to some of the spa experiences that you can encounter in that area. I compared the two experiences as well, because it does claim to be a place for relaxation/'spa'.
We arrived and the front desk attendant was friendly, she sorted us out and took me first to tour the facility and explain the process. I initially was disappointed there was no caps or anything that could be bought to protect your hair from the salt water. I went in to have my prefloat shower and the water was freezing cold. The shower stall itself did not have much of a luxury feel, with the shower head barely dribbling out water. Not only was the water cold, it was inefficient. I also would have preferred that the soaps used had the ingredients listed to make sure they were safe for me to use. I would have come out and asked about it, but there was no robe in my room so I felt trapped.
Which also brings me to the next point that was upsetting. Part of why I did this was to relax, and potentially help me with a flare up as I have colitis so it was upsetting that I realized there was no robe after to easily use the washroom if needed was less than stellar! The vaseline meant for any knicks or cuts was almost empty.
The float itself was decent, though I did have to open the pod lid with the lights off as I found the smell a bit too overpowering (but that could have been my flare up, it can make me very sensitive). It is nice that they have multiple options for lights (on/off/half on/ect).
The post float shower was still cold. I quickly shivered my way into my clothes and out to the lounge to try to warm up with a tea.
The lounge experience was nice. All in all, the experience isn't bad if you know what to expect but if you are expecting a spa experience with all of the trimmings and extras you may be disappointed.
