UPDATE:

UPDATE:

Took my wife to the ER who has had recurring pancreatitis from very high tryglecerides and genetics along with necrotically scarred gall bladder with crystalline sludge that was removed. She was in pain with an 8-9 pain level out of 10 and they did a urine test, MRI, EKG, and finally a blood test with a pregnancy test, even though she took steps after our twins were born to prevent us from having more kids.

In the end, the doctor thought it was gastritis when my wife was not symptomatic of that at all. In fact, the mixes of medicines did NOTHING for her. We will probably end up with a $1500-$2000 ER visit for fluids. She was dehydrated for sure since she went NPO as she always does when she is symptomatic of pancreatitis. She can handle pain, so if they are cautious of prescribing, then that is okay. Just hydrate her and send us home.

To ruin it all, the nurse asked my wife to drink water as they were discharging us... really?!? Yes, that increased her pain a lot with us leaving with my wife in more pain then when came to the ER.

So we ll probably be paying $1,500 to $2,000 for her IV fluids... spectacular... fail.

There are some fantastic clinics there still, but it s a shame that the ER does not reflect the quality of care of the rest of the hospital. We ll think twice about going there because we honestly don t know if they ll listen to the patient.

My own brother is a medical doctor who is... well, my brother, so I see him as my brother first. That s fine because he sees me the same way. He could diagnose my wife better from her history if he had to... or at least suggest some things for the doctor to check.

I guess when you see the love of your life in such pain who can run 4 clinics and bear much more pain than the average person, it s hard to swallow the pill and experience we just experienced. We have 2 Rx that we will not fill and most certainly will review with our family doctor tomorrow. My wife would ve waited had she not been so dehydrated.

Amazing clinic staff here. Those women greeting me at the reception desk are amazing.
