Kathy doubleu Review of Long Island Veterinary Special...

The doctors may have a good read on paper and they may be good at what they do, i really can't say for sure. I agree with so many of the reviews I've read on yelp and the reviews on Facebook is a joke because they are generic reviews. The assistant staff is pleasant but the vet I dealt with for my dog's nerve sheath tumor remove spoke maybe 3 sentences to me. No compassion, no details just procedure and not even details on what she was going to do. After the MRI I took my dog home that night and she was reacting strangely to the anesthesia, I knew it would be but wasn't sure how strange it was. When the vet called me to tell me the results I told her that my dog was acting as if she didn't know where she was, instead of telling me it's normal and giving me more help (I got more reading the internet) she said while giggling well let's hope she knows where she lives YEAH HA HA ! But because my vet who I trust said they are good at what they do I had my dog operated on by them, I'm not even sure if she actually did the surgery because after all was said and done i didn't even see her. I saw other vets who at least had a bedside manner and spoke to me about what to expect and how she was doing. I really did not feel confident with this group and YES it's all about money. After spending over $3000 for an MRI they has the audacity to call me up to the desk to tell me I owed them $3, YES $3 dollars!!!! Knowing that I'd be back to shell out another $2000 for the surgery. I'm not impressed with them. My dog lasted 3 months, I don't blame them for this but I was less than impressed with their service especially that of Catherine A. Loughin, DVM, Dip. ACVS, Dip. ACCT. Someone needs to teach her how to talk to owners. I actually made a comment to a tech about her lack of communication and they laughed and said yeash she doesn't say much but she'll tell you what you need to know. Yeah barely, thank goodness my regular vet. Dr. Wen is absolutely the greatest, I had to rely on him reading the reports back to me and explaining things and what to expect.
