Brought a Sony A7m2 for in warranty service repair and they refer me to MTC as this is the only service center for Toronto. The front desk associate mark down Excellent condition when she took my unit. Few days later I got a phone call saying the tech located sensor damage after they perform the sensor cleaning. Without giving me further detail, the agent wants to charge me $50 for an estimate. Quote from the agent Sony is not paying us for out of warranty unit. I would like to get paid for my job. You would like to get paid for your job don t you? As a customer, I could careless about the business between the service centers with Sony. I just want to know what happen to the unit or at least let me know a ballpark figure of what I am dealing with. The agent mentions again and again that she can t give me an estimate or figure unless I paid. In the end they quoted me LCD damage which has nothing to do with sensor. I still did not know what happen to my unit. Very bad experience and really make me regret getting a Sony camera.
