Though the drink menu, appetizers (especially guacamole), and desserts promise a delightful happy hour, the food fare at El Vez leaves something to be desired in terms of flavor. The staff was kind enough, and the food was well executed, but the flavors were rather dispirited, from the well salted but overall rather plain black beans, to the beautifully put-together, but disappointingly bland burrito. I certainly recommend El Vez for a long night of tequila drinking, guac dipping, and churro munching, but if you're looking for flavor-packed Mexican food, this isn't your spot. To make the most of your dollars at this price tag, in terms of quality and amount of food, I'd stick to the apps, drinks, and desserts.
