I was thrilled when I learned that Louisville would have a waterpark opening so I wouldn't have to make the 90 minute trip to Holiday World. I have been totally let down. The rides are good but the staff is not. They seem to be understaffed and the lifeguards they do have seem to be only willing to do the least amount of work required. The wave pool was filled with band aids. Yuck!!! That totally ruins my experience when someones nasty used band aid floats past me. We were riding the waterslides next to the family wave pool and they only had one lifeguard for all 3 slides. They allow 2 riders to be at the top of each slide. Instead of walking to each rider to let them know it was their turn she stayed in the corner and motioned to people to go. No one knew who she was motioning to so it was kind of a free for all. The lifeguards at the wave pool stood around blowing their whistles for almost 15 minutes after they announced that the waves would be starting. The people that they were blowing their whistles at were oblivious to the fact that they were doing anything wrong. Other swimmers had to go up and tell them that they couldn't be against the wall. Why couldn't the life guards jump in and solve the problem? After they finally got the waves started they had 5 waves and then shut it off. I wasn't sure what was happening (since none of the lifeguards seemed to be moving) and then a lot of people started to get out of the water. I followed suite. I also witnessed a little boy peeing on shoes that were left on the grass next to a water ride. His mother just giggled at that. If there had been an employee anywhere around I would have reported it. That is disgusting! When I finally got back to my very expensive locker ($15 for a family size) I found out that the bathroom was closed for cleaning. I figured it couldn't take too long so I waited. And waited. And waited. After almost 30 minutes I just gave up and put my clothes back on over my wet suit and left for the day. I can't say that I will be back. I wasted a lot of money on the season passes for parking and Kentucky Kingdom.
