This was recommended by a local business that we stopped at during our exploration of Spanish Fort. It didn't disappoint. With both indoor and outdoor seating, live music and plenty of seafood options, it is definitely worth a stop. We tried The BLUEGILL platter and the french dip. The sandwich was a wonderful portion and price. The platter was good as well but the technique on "blackening" wasn't quite there. The blackening seasoning is good and I would request it again but if you are looking for a truly blackened food item the finishing sear wasn't enough to call it blackened. Having been my first visit however, I cannot say if it is typical so give it a try if you like it (I will). We also tried their made-in-house cheesecake which was quite good. The restaurant may not look like much from the outside or to others, perhaps it's a diamond in the rough but it is definitely a place I would try again. It is a plastic cups and paper towel roll sort of establishment. The parking lot was full at 4 p.m. on a Sunday. It seems as though they may be a local favorite.
