First of all, I work in hospitality so I know first hand what to expect... Go stay at the Candlewood or Super 8 across the street- they're actually much much better!!
So you walk into this big beautiful, cozy lobby. Fireplace going, nice and quiet. But the front desk agent, older woman, was very rude, short and cold. My husband and I were on our cross country honeymoon road trip and he had called ahead of time to surprise me with an upgrade and was told he'd be getting some food and drink vouchers. The front desk agent didn't seem to give any care and lazily slid a small coupon for the on-site restaurant upon extra request. The hotel was obviously busy but almost no one was in the restaurant so we thought, "cool, at least it's quiet". Well it's no wonder, the food was at least warmed up- in the microwave and the potatoes my husband ordered still held the shape of the plastic sandwich bag they were prepped in. As a chef/hotel worker for a decade, all I can say is WOW. Disappointed. Then you get to the hallway to the rooms, stairs included, the rest of the hotel looks like a creepy prison hospital. Dingy lighting, very dirty stairwell and the room guys... There were obviously over 8 pubic hairs in the tub (nasty and which would fail an inspection immediately), the hair dryer wrapped around the adapter plugged into the wall (fire hazard) and blood on the sheets (biohazard). Come on Holiday, you are not living up to IHG standards /:
