Worker showed up . I told him what was going on. He said let s go in the attic to check the air handler . So that s what we did . He climbed up and started looking at the south handler and I kept telling him as I climbed up that it s this one . So he climbed over to the one I pointed to. Took a picture and climbed down. That seemed odd but figured he knew what was going on.
We went outside and he grabbed his gauges and a small tool box . He hooked up the gauges and said it needs Freon. So he said let s go make a plan and cost . Cost was $494.00
Then should I m not guaranteeing this is the problem. I said WHAT!!!! So we re going to do something that may or may no fix it?? Not guaranteed this will work. Did you get him from the streets as a worker . Going to charge me and not for sure it s the problem. Then I felt he was there to make me buy a new unit . So he grabbed the bottle of Freon and hooked to unit . After checking the gauges . He said that s not it . It s the ac coil clogged or a different part . He said approx. $1,700 to fix that . I said well that s better then $5,000 for a new unit . He said no it s like $7500-$10000. At the being of all this I told him what I thought was the problem . Clogged a coil . Guess what that s the problem. Had someone out there this evening to fix it for $500.
Ac unit is running fine ..
I wrote him a check for $89.00 for house call. I really don t think I should of had to pay that for not wanting to fix the unit and try to mKe me buy a new one . So I will call the bank tomorrow after someone from your company calls me .
