Opera may not be your scene but a visit to Glyndbourne is as much about the experience as it is the performance. Firstly there are the beautiful gardens to explore and enjoy watching all the other guests, there's undoubtedly some characters among them. Then entering the auditorium is an experience in itself, so unlike any other I have seen, beautifully crafted in wood. The interval is deliberately long allowing time for a meal, be it picnic on the lawn or in one of the restaurants. After the performance you can join the rush to leave or better, follow the example of those who enjoy another drink in the garden.
