It amazes me that more people do not know about this place. It is literally a block from campus, and the rates for a room here are amazing for the area. The property is very large and has a number of separate houses. The houses represent old-school Chapel Hill and are very quirky. The houses have been divided into various rooms and suites, with unusual wall designs, oddly angled partitions, etc. I absolutely loved staying here. Joe Teston, the on-site facility manager, is an absolute treasure. He keeps things running, and he is a man of integrity and honor. The Carolina Inn may be a fabulous - and very expensive - place to stay, but this property sits right next to it and costs 1/4 the price. It is truly an undiscovered gem in the heart of Chapel Hill.
