My wife & I were taking an early BA flight from LHR for a short vacation and chose the Sofitel primarily due to its location adjacent to T5.

I m a frequent guest at Accor hotels, primarily Novotels and Pullmans, and found the Sofitel somewhat out of the norm.

We had booked a Luxury King Bed Room with Club Millesime Lounge access.
On arrival (~17:00) Check-in seemed to be a complete zoo with people all over the foyer and no signage as to where check-in actually was or how to queue. Usually with Executive Lounge access, one can check-in in the quiet and calm of the Exec Lounge, however, Club Millesime is not geared up to do that, so first impressions were rather poor.

However, as a Gold Accor member, we were upgraded to a Prestige Suite a fantastic set of rooms with lots of personal space and facilities (e.g. a washroom & loo in addition to the full bathroom suite inc. walk-in shower). The rooms were very quiet despite the proximity to the airport (thanks to the quadruple glazing), the bed and pillows really comfortable and sleep quality excellent.

Club Millesime offers a great selection of light bites and drinks (in.c alcoholic) between 18:00 and 22:00 which is quite unusual (Exec Lounges normally have that from 18:00 to 20:00).

The price was high, but perhaps not unreasonable due to the unique location just 5-10 mins walk to BA Check-in.

Overall the experience was very good and I would stay there again in similar circumstances.
