I'd like to share my very frustrating and discouraging experience dealing with the VA Hospital psychiatry department so perhaps others can avoid making mistakes that I have made after many years of voluntarily receiving treatment that I myself requested from the VAMC Psychiatry Department at a different VA Hospital I decided to change hospitals because the hospital that I was receiving my care at prior to receiving care at the Long Beach VA Hospital was not helping my psychiatric condition but only making it worse as well as creating new health problems and psychiatric side effects/disorders because of the doctor prescribed psychiatric drugs that I was taking and that is why I chose to try a new hospital in the hope that I would receive proper treatment for my condition at a new hospital but that has not been the case when I voluntarily requested treatment at this Hospital I informed them of my symptoms and that I had been previously misdiagnosed at the pryor Hospital and as usual they have you fill out a lengthy questionnaire that basically allows anyone to perform the function of a so-called mental health care professional regardless of their competence if you tell them that you desire treatment for your condition but do not wish to do anything bad to yourself or anyone else they will tell you to go away and come back in a month or two when you have an appointment and there's really no guarantee things will go differently when you return I know they never did for me they're just trying to think of something to tell you to get you out of their office so they don't have to deal with you I remember one particular time specifically when I requested help I was told that because I waited this long I shouldn't have a problem waiting a few months longer it's basically the same thing as when a new person arrives at their Squadron or unit and then are sent to different work centers to retrieve fictional items that do not exist but except here it's requesting appointments for future visits or perhaps going to see the patient advocate you're basically being ignored if you do not listen to them and demand treatment because your condition is bothering you and you are suffering and are tired of being ignored and want proper medical treatment they can label you as psychic and do what they will with you so it's your choice be ignored and leave or don't leave be locked up drugged and then ignored and they have a lot of different drugs that are really good at interfering with your thought processes, reasoning ability and ability to remain conscious and those are the ones they like to give you to drug you and make you easier to deal with/ignore it's really your choice so if you tell them that you intend on, or have thought about doing something on their list of thought crimes then you will be taken into custody and drugged and stripped of all of your rights until they decide otherwise and although they may release you they really do not feel the need to restore your rights if you end up being misdiagnosed they would rather continue to give you treatment for what you do not have than admit that they were wrong and then you may never get the proper treatment because so far that has been my personal experience they just do not appear to care they just want you to go away, for good perhaps or maybe they are just completely incompetent from my personal experience if you go there requesting treatment for a condition that is causing you distress you'll be turned away and ignored as long as the record shows that they followed their yes/no lock them up let him go incarceration flowchart checklist the one which they are completely incapable of functioning without they really dont appear to care what happens to you after you leave because the best case scenario for them is that they won't have to deal with you again anyone who repeatedly comes here voluntarily requesting treatment even after receiving improper treatment is obviously desperately trying to get real help
