Anita Martinsons Review of Barbeques Galore
Although I received what I thought was quite good ...
Although I received what I thought was quite good service at the store, the after sales service for the BBQ I bought was terrible. I asked the "salesman", who was a trainee, if I could get the BBQ I purchased assembled and delivered. He was so keen to make what I can only assume was his first sale that he agreed without actually thinking about my request. The "manager" for the day had to guide him through the computer based receipt, while "throwing in" a free cover for my BBQ as it was a shock to him that I would have that sorted in the correct manner (did I actually know the difference between a four burner and 2 burner BBQ) and also mentioned to his trainee that "it would look good on his stats if he threw in a cover".
When the BBQ arrived today, I was surprised and as you can imagine quite angry that it came to me in a box of over 100 pieces to assemble! I immediately rang the Auburn store to ask what had happened to the assembly component of the sale. I was told a few things about the sale:
a) I had made the mistake because I should know that there is another fee for assembly - I am not even sure the "trainee" knows that information
AND when that did not wash
b) An assembly can be sorted for me and my mistake, at a cost of $120
c)it was the fault of the "trainee" not the man who I spoke to who identified himself as the manager after I asked to speak with the manager
It was not until I got quite angry with the person on the phone that an apology of any description was given, customer service was lacking in all areas.
The result of this encounter was a 5 hour assembly session in 35 degree weather ... absolutely unacceptable!!!
