A nice place to bring the family. There's a "public" and a "private" parts to the ground. Entrance to the private part requires a entrance fee. This review is for the for the private part of the gardens.
The main waterfall area forms the central part of the gardens. Arranged as a terraced waterfall and looks magnificent as the water flows down and forming a grand cascade down the terraces. Visiting in October there's not many flowers, although it looked the gardens was mostly made up of trees, bushes and hedges. Hidden amongst the bushes are water fountain made of I think stainless sculptures of different abstract form that allow the the water to flow in different ways or just cascade.
So the reason for my average rating is what I thought was poor ticket management. Our group bought the combined castle and gardens ticket. What we didn't notice was that the printed ticket only says entrance for the castle. After visiting the castle, my parents wanted just sit and rest in the gardens. An hour later the rest of the group finished at the castle and decided to go to the gardens for lunch to find my parents standing outside the gardens because they were not allowed in due to the ticket only mentioning the castle. Only after showing the attendant the online ticket that showed we'd purchased entrance to the gardens too were we allowed in. If the we'd purchased entrance to both castle and gardens, then surely the ticket should show both and my parent would not have had to stand in the cold for an hour.
