Review of Box hill TAFE

I just got off the phone to Box Hill Institute. What a disappointing phone call and it now becomes abundantly clear why you have such poor reviews. All I needed to do was sign up one of my staff members for a light vehicle tester administration course. I was told he needs to go in before the course to sit a numeracy and literacy test. This staff member has completed VCE and also holds a bachelor of physiotherapy from Monash Uni. Apparently that's not enough to prove my staff member has the required numeracy and literacy skills required for this ONE DAY course. What a joke....

I then asked about doing it online or on the morning of the test, to save him having to go their twice, both of which were not options. What sort of prehistoric Tafe doesn't conduct online testing for basic numeracy and literacy or recognise VCE or university qualifications? One not worth going to... Even the lady I spoke to on the phone agreed that it was a silly rule. Clearly BHI doesn't accept or listen to feedback, even when their own staff know it's rubbish - that much is evident from their reviews and my dealings with them today.

For anyone considering this course, go to Kangan. Far more flexible and cheaper.

Hung up the phone, rang Kangan, and they were more than happy to oblige. And they were cheaper...
