I was due to stay on the Saturday night when BA cancelled all its flights. As I could not fly from Milan I wrote to the Sofitel explaining the situation that I wanted to give up my room for some of the people who were stuck at Heathrow and had no where to stay. For giving up my room I asked Sofitel to refund my stay. In fact the rates being charged meant that I was doing Sofitel a big favour. They still haven't responded on whether they will refund me. Given that BA had thousands of customers to deal with and have already refunded my additional costs and compensation this is very poor customer service from Sofitel.
