Personally I did not find this hotel charming at all. The room I was initially given was small and I do not believe the bed was a queen as advertised. The shower was so small you could barely turn around . Lots of mold around the shower, sink was a slow drain and smelled. Noise from the bar next bar extremely loud and continued well into the night.
After 3 request, we were given a different room. Slightly bigger bathroom and bed which made the stay durable.
Only 2 elevators..one stayed out of order for the entire 5 days of the trip. Waits for service were often 15 to 20 minutes.,
Front desk staff could be more helpful and courteous.

Good location to convention center and tons restaurants in the Gaslamp District..
