I have lived in Hickory for 8 years and have had a few locals tell me to go to Gold King. I was with my dad and decided to check them out and was looking forward to seeing gold and silver coins for a possible purchase. We were barely greeted by a surly clerk that seemed annoyed by our presence. We inquired about buying gold coins and the clerk responded by saying "We don't have anything to sell right now." The store was extremely disorganized and messy and there was a case filled with piles of various coins and some other trashy looking items. I asked her if anything was for sale in the case and she said, "That's all fake." She was very dismissive and curt. Needless to say we left in a hurry and will never return. I've read their responses to other poor reviews and the owner's tone is arrogant, insulting and defensive. If you want to be treated rudely and with disrespect, you should definitely go there. Gold King should be renamed Gold Fink!
