After traveling along I80 through PA we were anxious to find a place to stop and eat that was not fast food. Coming up to the exit for Butler, I believe, we decided to get off and try The Iron Gate restaurant. We were not disappointed!
The ambience was of a relaxed and friendly place. The wait staff was professional and knowledgable of the menu, including the specials.
My friend had the prime rib, which was on special, and I opted for the grilled salmon salad. Both were excellent! The bread served was very tasty and the butter was not cold and hard! A plus for those of us who want spreadable butter for the bread!
All-in-all a very unexpected, pleasant fining experience! We thought we would have to get home in an area we knew before having a dinner like this one!
Highly recommended!
