My friend and I came to this ER after having been rear-ended in a 10 car pile up on the interstate. The nursing staff couldn't have been less interested in us. Since my friend didn't have insurance they didn't bother to do any xrays or any scans, told her she probably had a concussion and discharged her. never mind that my car insurance will be covering her medical bills for that visit. They sat me in a room, didn't even give me a call button, couldn't be bothered to provide me with a pillow for my aching head and neck. Nurse Kyle handed me a couple of folded up lumpy fitted sheets and said to put those behind my head. The doctor didn't even examine me and they only did xrays on the body parts I mentioned. As a nurse I was saddened to be treated this way by members of my own profession. As a consumer who made a choice to utilize the Hillcrest ER; I will find somewhere else to spend my money next time. My insurance premiums are too high for me to allow myself to be treated in such a manner by professionals who are being paid to provide a service. I would never treat my patients so callously.
