Our 2 year old pup had been throwing up and poopin...

Our 2 year old pup had been throwing up and pooping blood. It was a very scary scene when we arrived from work to find her in this state. It was late at night and our normal vet was closed as most vets are. When we showed up they immediately put us in a room and had us fill the paperwork out in the room. The tech was busy with other rooms which is understandable at this time of night. I'm sure the amount of patients vary vastly being this was an emergency visit and not most vets stay open this late. The vet was quick with the diagnosis and was pretty much dead on with the research we had done before arriving. Our dog had HGE which can be deadly if not treated promptly. The vet did not waste time with letting us know what happened and was very friendly to our non social pups. They gave us 3 options for care all with varying cost. In the end we chose the middle option as we felt like it was best for our Zoey but also didn't go all in with the tests and exams. The cheapest option was appealing it we felt like she needed to stay over night. Though this was not the cheapest vet visit by far it was worth every penny to know that our dog was in professional hands. She was better by the next morning and though we could have taken her home the night before we are not trained to give her IV fluids and hydration is key with HGE. Overall we paid just over $700 but I was not surprised by the cost being it was an emergency night visit. This included the cost of medications for 1 week. I was just glad somebody was open and available in our situation. I will use their services next time without hesitations and would refer them to anybody emergency or not.
