Adrienne Lin Review of Hotel De Hallen

This was my first time visiting Amsterdam, and I fell in love with this beautiful city! I chose to stay just outside the main area for the quieter location. Hotel De Hallen was right next to Foodhallen (a large food court) and a 15 minute walk to the Museum district, De Jordaan (my favorite area I visited), and Vondelpark. Quiet, but still close enough to many sights.
My double room itself was modern, very clean, with plenty of outlets and a pleasantly large size for this part of Europe. The bed was fairly comfortable, if a little firm, with soft linens. The bathroom was very large, with a rain shower and separate bath tub (also gigantic).
The rooms have no windows, instead the wall facing the hallway is all glass. It s sort of public though so I kept the curtain drawn. Would have been nice if there were some natural light but not a big deal.
My room was also in the worst spot next to a service entrance, definitely needed earplugs. If you get room 122, ask to switch if possible.
There s an attached restaurant and bar, which I didn t eat at (too many other options to try). Good sized outdoor patio as well to dine or enjoy a drink at.
Despite the room noise, I would stay here again for the nice service and modern, clean rooms.
