I will never call John Moore company again and I will never recommend their services.
First, I paid $99 for the Emergency Service call. When the Tech came in the first question he asked " So, how long do you plan on living here? What?! I was hoping I was wrong about what I was feeling at that moment. But I did pay $99 and we are heading into a heat wave!
The tech took a brief look around then came back and said come look outside, NOW really, what am I looking at, we both know I don't know.... He said I don't recommend "patching" this. I asked why, what's the problem? You know he didn't answer but started in on a New unit!!
I asked him again, what is the problem and what is the costs for the "patch work" and the new unit(s). He said ok I will be right back, he left to sit in, I am sure, air conditioned Van, to write out the quotes.
He came back with a quote APPROXIMATELY $1200 for "patch" work, that the tech said "I would NOT recommend that AT ALL" and then he stated "Now, you know that is just to start, don't know what else I might find"! What did he diagnose!?!?! He NEVER told me.
Then quoted 8K for partial unit and 12k for an entire unit. I was already light head from the heat, but really, I was not going to forget that I still didn't know that the issue was. I trusted my gut and said I will sleep on it. He said if you agree tonight, we will get you financed and pay for a hotel room! I WAS WILLING to go another hot night, to ensure that I was not going to get RIPPED OFF12k worth. Plus I am sure the "free hotel" would have been made up in the cost somewhere.....
I called another company to come over to check, and it was a fuse!!!! A service fee was all that I was charged!!! I called Joseph AC who fixed my problem and service was less than the $99 with John Moore's Emergency service. When I do need a new unit, because one day I will, John Moore will not see my 12K.
Now, what exactly was John Moore's Tech showing me outside when problem was a fuse in the unit inside. EXACTLY!!! This is what gives service people a bad name. John Moore should be ashamed to live up to the stereotype of being dishonest and a rip off!
I would like to have my $99.00 back!!! Makes me sick
