My husband has been on the kidney transplant list ...

My husband has been on the kidney transplant list for a year. In October he had a person step up to be tested as a living Donor and that's when the nightmare began. After completing a phone interview, which the donor passed, she was told she would receive a kit to do a blood comparison. Ten days later when she still had not received it she called again, this time they finally overnighted it. Of course she got it on a Friday so couldn't have blood drawn until Monday. Then she overnighted it back and a week later was told she was a perfect blood match. Then it took another 2 weeks for her to get a date(a whole month later) to be tested in person. This involved a plane ticket as she lives in Arizona and we live in Kansas. Then when she's came for 3 days of testing and interviews with doctors, social workers and her "coordinator" she was told all the tests were completed and the case would be presented on the last day of her testing and a date for the transplant would be scheduled. THEN it wasn't!! So she went home and spent a week trying to contact her coordinator who didn't return calls and then asked for a supervisor only to be given back to the "Clinical Director" who happened to be the original person she talked to. Oh and the donor also had to redo the first interview, which she did with the "Director" and which magically seemed to have gotten lost!! Now a week after she's returned home she is told she must do more tests and talk to more people, and now they can't present the case OR schedule the transplant for another 2 weeks!! And by the way, for all of you out there that might be on dialysis according to the "Director" dialysis is "No big deal!!"
At this point we're very frustrated with the whole business and each day my husband's condition gets worse and all we can do is wait.
Save yourself some frustration and look elsewhere.
