I took the full-time web development bootcamp in the spring of 2015, and shortly after began working as a front-end developer for a creative agency in Toronto.

As an introvert, personally, I was looking for an environment where I thought all learning and personality styles were welcomed and fostered. After doing more research, and meeting with Heather Payne (HackerYou's CEO), I felt confident that it was where I wanted to be.

HackerYou is a beautiful space (literally and figuratively). The curriculum is ever-changing because that s the standard in the tech field things are always in flux. As expected in any bootcamp, some days were really tough, but the support from folks in my cohort and the staff helped (and continue to help) me get over all the hurdles. The alumni community is also amazing. People are always there to chime in when you re debugging, or to bounce ideas off of.

Yes, learning how to code is probably the main you re in the bootcamp, but you ll also transform in other areas of your life.

Yes, you ll be able to create webpages and applications, but you'll also be inspired to (and most definitely able to) help others.

At HackerYou it s not just about you, as an individual, coding away (and I don t think it ever has been). It s also about being a part of a thriving and generous community.
