We are in the final stages of our home construction with Tom LaBlonde.
It has been a long process between the city of Scottsdale, a few of his subs (who he fires after problems, which he did several times on our house), all of our changes, deliveries from suppliers, supplier cost increases, etc. The majority of Tom's subcontractors are excellent and have been doing business with Tom for a very long time.

But, I can truly say, Tom is an exceptional builder! He designed our house from a rough concept, into an unbelievable house with his ideas. He has an eye for everything from major structural architecture to the smallest detail. He is the most dedicated person to his houses and homeowners than could ever be expected. He works seven days a week 12-14 hours a day paying attention to contractors, homeowners, HOA's, suppliers, costs, approvals, inspections, etc., because he wants to make sure he can do the very best he can. He has tried field supervisors, but currently wants to watch everything himself. His office staff are also incredible, handling invoices, homeowner bank loans/draws, follow-up with suppliers/ contractors, and all the other aspects of running a business.

His approach to a very reasonable fee, (then the homeowner gets everything at his actual cost, including changes, or we can go buy everything at the best price), is unusual and appreciated. We made a LOT of changes (some significant), some details, some major, and everything was at actual costs. He left it totally to us to determine our expenses for all the things we control (appliances, flooring, tile, cabinets, counter tops), but gave us his recommendations where and how to save money.

Our house will be worth at least 20% more than we will have paid (even with extra costs and upgrades) when we move in.

We have a lot in Flagstaff that, if we decide to build, we will only use Tom LaBlonde.
