Great resource for UH CoAD students and one of the easiest ways to learn shop and fabrication equipment on your own pace. Student staff that knows the struggles of the students. Wish the college administration would give the facility more respect and autonomy so it could be the best shop and not have to bend to professor and college demands at the cost of maintenance quality and staff stress. If there could be a permanent laser room manager and CNC manager so the shop manager can focus on the overall organization and function of the shop instead of having to act as a CNC machinist, set up jobs for students (which should be either be on the student or the CoAD administration needs to give the Keeland center the resources and permisson to teach a credit hour or offical structured class that equips students with the knowledge to set up and run their own files with out compromising safety or damaging the machine [same could go for the laser room]). The staff does a great job given the rotating student staff and keeping the shop safe and running.
