I went online and purchased a mattress and box spring set Oct 2, 2018. I requested a delivery date of Oct 18, 2018. I received confirmation of the order and the delivery date. I began receiving text messages three days prior to the delivery date stating, your order will be delivered in three, two, one, days respectively! The day of the delivery I received a text stating my mattress set would be delivered as scheduled, then within 30 minutes, I received another text requesting I call them because the delivery would be delayed.

When I called, the nightmare began. I was told they were having challenges with the manufacturer and the merchandise had not be received into the warehouse. A fact that should have been communicated to me earlier instead on repeated confirmations of delivery. When I asked what was the delay, the representative, who was located in the Philippines and didn't seem to be very knowledgeable about this type of situation, stated the product would be delivered on Nov 5th. When I inquired how did she know that since the merchandise wasn't even at warehouse and there was no ETA as to when it would be, she didn't have an answer. I would suggest in these types of situations, the associates be given a talkoff that makes sense to the customer. This all happened on Oct 18th.

Between Oct 18th and Oct 22rd, I received a minimum of 10 calls from their automatic system advising me to the order was delayed and request I contact them before 9pm in the evening. This, after I'd already spoken with their customer service. On Oct 22nd, I called and cancelled the order and requested a full refund. I'd paid for the merchandise in full at the time the order was placed. I felt Sears had no problems taking my money without DELAY, but I had nothing to show for it. I was assured the order was cancelled, I also requested the automatic phone calls cease since I'd already spoken with them. I was told my refund would be received 3-5 business days and I would receive an email confirmation of the cancellation within 24 hours.

Today is Oct 23, 2018 and I've received two more automatic calls telling me my order is delayed and asking me to call before 9pm. This AFTER I've cancelled the order and was assured a refund was coming. I called them AGAIN and spoke with a representative who told me the order wasn't completely cancelled and he would cancel it now, and the refund would be coming between 7-10 business days. I asked AGAIN for the calls to stop. Only time will tell if either has happened.

I order my mattress because of Sears' reputation, but I see like so many other things these days, that no longer exists.
