We arrived for our afternoon tea sitting 10 minutes before our slot and were aloofly told to go away and return at the allocated time. We thought perhaps they were busy and our table was consequently not yet available and therefore, disappeared and returned 10 minutes later. Whilst being walked to our table, we were stunned to see that the sitting was virtually empty so why were we rudely told to return spot on time.

One tier was then brought over for us both with minimal food on it; there wasn't even one of everything each; nonetheless, we thought that we had read somewhere whilst booking that we could order additional cakes / sandwiches during our sitting. The waitress looked appalled when we asked for more food and grudgingly said which single piece of additional cake would you like each.
