Rowton Hall Hotel is a lovely, charming character hotel that serves amazing breakfast and has accommodating, friendly staff. It is a very pleasant surprise nestled in the south-of-Chester countryside with beautiful gardens and grounds surrounding it. The spa was nice but having some teething problems when we arrived. But under the new management, hopefully these have since been rectified (We visited late August).
