I wanted to take a moment and thank the team at Senior Planning Services for all you ve done to organize, complete and ultimately receive approval on behalf of my mother s Medicaid application.

When we realized that my mother was going to exhaust all of her funds and still needed care, I started to work on her Medicaid application on my own. I was completely overwhelmed by the process! I didn t understand all the specific information that was required or the complicated process of applying for Medicaid. While I am my mother s POA and Legal Representative, it was further complicated because while my mother lives in Connecticut, I live out of state so I was trying to figure it out while being long-distance! I was so thankful when Ben Schiano, Executive Director of Wesley Heights Transitions where my mother was living, suggested I contact Senior Planning Services. I was skeptical at first because of the cost of SPS services, but when we realized it was an acceptable and legitimate expense allowed under Medicaid rules, it was an easy decision to make. It turned out to be the best call I made!

Miri Kreiser was the case manager assigned to my Mother s application. Any time I had a question or concern, Miri was quick to respond and always with a thorough explanation. I appreciate her patience, kindness and communication skills throughout the entire process, and ultimately that she was able to obtain approval from Medicaid. Having Miri handle the application process allowed me to focus on my mother s care when I would visit instead of worrying about what I needed to handle next. Overall, SPS, and specifically Miri, made sure the process was efficient, done properly and we received approval from Medicaid promptly.

In the end, it was well worth the cost of using Senior Planning Services and we are very happy we made the decision to do so. Knowing that my Mother is in a safe and caring nursing facility covered by Medicaid is a gift, and we have SPS to thank for that. I honestly don t think we would have come to the same conclusion had we attempted to go through the process ourselves.
