While visiting the office in support of a friend facing discrimination, I was witness to the regional director Yolanda Smith berating an employee in full view of myself and other petitioners. She seemed, arrogant, confrontational and very disrespectful to the employee to the point where I felt so uncomfortable that I stepped outside. As did others.
When coming to the NAACP to combat discrimination and mistreatment, the last thing you would expect to see in full view is the very thing your fighting against. Not a good look. And I'm not impressed. A wrong anywhere is a wrong everywhere.
