This afternoon with my daughter to the ophthalmologist + eye pressure check. In the consultation rooms we have put on a face mask ourselves because we belong to the risk group. The assistant and doctor should ask if they also wanted to wear a mouth mask, because they come very close. The answer was that this is not the policy of Isala because there is control at the gate. We had to explain twice that you can also be contagious with corona 2 days before you get symptoms, as stated on the RIVM website. The doctor even asked if we were serious about this. Eventually they both put on a mouth mask, but had to look elsewhere in the department. I really don't understand any of this. Even our hairdresser wears a mouth mask as standard and it is still behind you. Nothing but praise for the ophthalmology department, but I find this so strange from Isala. The doctors themselves are also at risk here, right?
