I purchased a 2014 Kia Sorento in Dec.2013. It's been a great car. Around Dec. 2017 I received a recall notification to bring the car in to get the engine checked, which it checked out fine. However, the next day, my wife heard a strange noise and it turned out to be the air conditioner. My local mechanic checked it and said there was no refrigerant, so he added refrigerant and said there were no leaks so he didn't know why it was low. Once again everything is working fine, cool air all summer. Around Oct. of this year I received another notice to bring the car in for a software update to the ECU. I did that, and the very next day, we heard that same strange noise again and what a surprise, no air conditioning. I called the service department and they were certainly willing to schedule another appointment to "check" out the problem, of course I would be responsible for the diagnoses or any repairs needed. I really don't think this is a coincidence that this happened twice immediately after getting warranty work done. I will have to find a different Kia dealer in the future.
