My mom recently spent a week in this facility. The room had not been cleaned. A pill was on the bathroom floor of the room when she was admitted and it stayed there for four days. She had a contagious respiratory infection and the staff did not take any precautions until her 5th day in the facility. They placed her in a room with vulnerable elderly roommates. A respiratory therapist named James told a highly inappropriate joke for a healthcare setting. He said How do crazy people cut through the woods? They take the psychopaths. My mom s IV blew up in her arm several times and it took ages for the nurses to respond. I had to call customer care and ask for a patient advocate (I have power of attorney) several times. I was hung up on five times. The house supervisor told me she would visit the room and she never showed up. I waited three hours before I had to go home. A nurse used equipment covered in someone else s blood and my mom had to point it out and tell her to stop. My mom filed a complaint about that incident. Her second elderly roommate received inadequate supervision and fell in the room. She busted her head open and bled all over. The poor woman bled for hours. The room was not cleaned all day and blood was left on the bed, the floor, and the walls. The shower in the bathroom was crammed full of stuff and looked like it had not been cleaned in months. There was a dirty linen bag in the shower filled with soiled linen from someone else s stay. It remained in the room the entire time my mom was in the hospital. Banner Baywood is a nightmare. Stay away from this place!
