Ian Harris Review of SS Great Britain: Visualising ...

A simply wonderful experience. You can walk around the whole ship including ' under the water line' where the dry dock cleverly has a glass floor at the water line with rippling water on top of it to make it look like Brunel's ship is afloat.
Fascinating to walk around the ship from seeing the engine room to the conditions people lived in for their voyage (tiny beds - my how we have grown).
For a little extra and the brave you can even climb up the rigging - I wasn't that brave!
There are several museum elements, one a walk through to the ships deck level and another experience all about the brilliant Brunel with a homage to his other works.
We spent a good 4 hours their and will go back on our tickets that allow return visits within 12 months at no extra charge.
Parking is close by and the ship and museums have lifts for people struggling to get around (one of our party had a cast on her leg and she managed ok) by the nature of it being a real ship in a very old dry dock access might be a little restricted to all areas for someone in wheelchair although they would certainly be able to see most.
One of the best exhibitions/museums that I have been to.
