It was nearly 5 years ago that I had dinner at Alinea and it lives on as the most memorable meal I've ever had in a lifetime of culinary exploration. Alinea was my first experience with molecular gastronomy, and set me on a journey exploring it within and without my own kitchen. What was my favorite dish at Alinea? There were 16 outrageously delicious courses, but I'll never forget the cup of duck consomme. I have no hope of ever recapturing it; haven't even tried. I'm content to treasure the memory.
