Discriminatory business

Rennit NYC is very unprofessional and discriminatory in practice. In September 2025 I applied for an apt and one of their leasing agents never actually returned multiple requests to see the apt. I happened to see people viewing the apt near my home, and I walked in. After seeing the apt, the agent took my number and sent me the link to apply, which I did promptly. I submitted W2, photo ID, 3 pay stubs, portfoilo statements, recent bank statements. Once docs were submitted they demanded a Zoom meeting where I was asked to send a copy of proof of rent payments for my current apt. Once they got this , they asked for 2 more bank statements. (The other 2 bank statements and proof of rent payments were NOT a requirement of the application.) A week later, my application was denied and credit was never run.

This was an invasive, discriminatory practice. My credit score is fine and income is more than sufficient. I would not apply with this business again. They are nosy and discriminatory.
