Review of Sub Club

Used to be my favourite club but after a disgraceful experience from management and their stance regarding customer safety and harm reduction, I won't be returning ever again. On a cold winter night last year I was in the club with a few friends, went up to the bar to get a round in and was approached by a member of staff who asked me to come with them so I bemusedly followed asking what was up until I was walked to the door and told I needed to sober up before I would be let back in. Was pretty surprising to say the least seeing as I wasn't really that drunk, intoxicated sure, but not causing any issues; I happily to admit that I've been in much worse states in the past.

Anyway that wasn't really the issue I had, I appreciate the need to remove people from the club if they're causing issue, however after trying to speak with the bouncers I was told I needed to 'go for a walk' and come back in a while. Now I don't need to tell you how terrible that is to advise someone who potentially could be in a bad state to go off BY THEMSELVES in what was no doubt below freezing at 2am. Talk about harm reduction, you'd hope that nightclub management would be far more careful from previous tragedies such as in the Arches. Absolutely disgraceful for a club like subbie to have such a stance, can't imagine what would happen if they told someone who was in a really bad state to go off by themselves into freezing cold Glasgow with little more than a t-shirt (I wasn't allowed to get my jacket from the cloakroom).

Such a shame for once was a legendary club
