When my aunt went to a nursing home for long term care, the finance department recommended that I hire Senior Planning Services to apply for Medicaid. I am so glad that I took their advice!
Karen Belmont, from Senior Planning, met me at the nursing home and had me sign necessary documents. Since she was also a notary, everything was handled in one sitting. She explained the process and was very kind, helpful and professional. The next step would be hearing from my case manager.
I understood that Medicaid required five years worth of financial information, which I did not have, since my aunt lived in Florida for many years. Sara Mordowitz, my case manager at Senior Planning, knew exactly what was needed, and how to go about getting all of the required information. She kept in contact with me and was always accessible by phone or email, to answer my questions and to keep me informed. I cannot say enough good things about Sara. She handled all communication with Medicaid and kept me updated on progress. Medicaid was approved.
I would strongly recommend that anyone having to apply for Medicaid give serious consideration to using Senior Planning Services. They are highly effective, knowledgeable and caring. The process took a major burden off of me, so I could focus on my aunt s well being, instead of dealing with the State.
