My advice... Don't ever accept room 20. It's adjacent to the lift and is badly affected by noise from the lift gear.... no fun a 9 mins past 6 on a Saturday morning! The room is also described as a courtyard room, the 'courtyard' is a first floor flat roof area of about 15ft square with artificial grass,a couple of scruffy tubs and a fire escape!
We asked to move rooms but were told the hotel was fully booked. The offer of some recompense or a sincere apology would have been appreciated but neither were forthcoming. Having said that the public areas of the hotel were good and the spa was nice.
We didn't eat in the main restaurant but did have a meal in the bistro which at best was average.
Oh and ladies, don't expect to be able to dry your hair within sight of a mirror, there is a dressing table with a light over it but no plug in the vicinity!!
Overall worthy of it's four star rating?... We have stayed in much better with lower star ratings, we wont be returning to this one!
