Nordstrom collectively as an organization has always in my opinion been 2nd to none. However, the men's dept has really gone down hill over the past decade. Suits and Mens shoes will always be reigning champs but as far as every day style /casual and designer wear, the current buyer has lame tatse; sorry! I cant tell if they are attempting to try and go more "New York" or simply catering to a completely different client base? I remember the Brass Rail days before the purchase of the "F&N" building and in 20 years of shopping I've never once not been able to find "something" that I liked...even if I couldn't afford it!
Nordy's when it comes to mens apparel, if it ain't broke...you know the rest.
