I made a reservation for covered parking through SpotHero. When I arrived there was a sign up saying the lot was full and closed. They let me in the lot when I told them I had already prepaid for a spot but there wasn't covered parking available. I ended up having to park in a line of cars in the back and leave them my keys. My car was fine when I got back but it was parked in a open spot and I had to get the difference refunded through SpotHero. I'm not sure where the problem lies when it comes to overselling available covered spots but just be aware having a reserved spot through SpotHero doesn't mean you'll actually get one here. Parking is extremely tight too but that seems to be the theme in both of the Oakland offsite airport parking lots I've used. I'll be trying a different lot from this one next time.
