We took the Paddle Canada Level 1 course at Deep Cove Kayak before a week-long group kayaking trip. Jack was a super instructor! We knew nothing about kayaking and he explained everything very clearly and patiently to us - paddling strokes, capsize recovery, safety equipment, nautical charts and navigation, tides/currents/weather, regulations, etc. We had been hesitant to take the course because it was relatively expensive for us, but we used all of these skills pretty much continuously during our trip.
