For several years, our family made at least two trips to Stuckey's each year-once to pick apples and once to ride the tractor to the pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin-but this will be our last. This year when we arrived to pick a pumpkin, we learned we had to pay $5 per person for the "privilege" of picking a pumpkin from their pumpkin patch. They sell this whole admission fee based on all the carnival games the kids can play, but we simply wanted a pumpkin and some apples. We were not the only customers today that were disappointed in this "new business model." It is a shame that Stuckey's has had to trade loyal patronage for a few extra bucks, but we will not be back.
